ESL Vision's washdown family: AquaDome, AquaBeam, Strata VaporTight, and Helios.

Tyson Foods Engineering has reviewed and approved ESL Vision washdown lighting fixtures for use in its processing facilities. The approval specifically names the AquaDome, AquaBeam and CleanBeam product lines as meeting Tyson's requirements for washdown applications, and ESL Vision part numbers are now loaded in Tyson's SAP system.

For contractors and distributors working food and protein processing across North Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, a standardization like this changes the shape of the job. The fixture question is settled going in, which moves the conversation to layout, lead time and installation rather than submittals and substitution requests.

What the family covers

Processing floor: AquaDome. A sealed die-cast aluminum round high bay built for sanitation-critical rooms. IP69K rated for direct high-pressure steam cleaning at close range, IK08 impact rated, and NSF-listed for food zones. The housing is low-profile with slope sides engineered to shed water rather than pool it, and the convex PMMA lens curves outward for the same reason. Field-selectable 160-200W with efficacy up to 184 lm/W, 10kV internal surge protection, a 120-degree distribution, and an optional integrated emergency pack. At 12.6 pounds and 18.1 inches wide it ships with a hook mount, surface bracket and 6-foot quick-connect cable, so it mounts and plugs in.

Inspection line: AquaBeam. A linear fixture with a selectable beam angle, so the same product delivers a narrow beam to hit 200-plus foot-candles at inspection tables or a wide beam to spread light across the floor. IP69K and IK10, and linkable in continuous runs directly over the line for shadow-free coverage where the light is actually measured.

Wet and damp areas: Strata VaporTight. A conformal-coated PCB holds the ingress rating even without the lens, which matters in docks, mechanical rooms, packaging and cold storage. Delivers up to 36,000 lumens.

High-temperature areas: Helios. Built for ambient temperatures above 158 degrees, which puts it in rendering and similar spaces where standard fixtures do not survive. Available from 20,000 to 70,000 lumens.

Why it matters here

Protein and food processing is a large part of the industrial base across our territory, and washdown is the hardest environment in the plant. Caustic foam, high-pressure water, temperature swings and sanitation schedules take fixtures apart. A product family that is rated for the environment and already accepted by a major processor's engineering group is worth knowing about before the next retrofit or expansion comes across your desk.
