Protect Your Next Solar Project With Littelfuse's SPD2 Type 2 Surge Protection Devices

The large, exposed locations of solar fields make them susceptible to lightning strikes which are a leading cause of downtime. Even indirect strikes can cause major destruction to photovoltaic (PV) systems, making surge protection a critical component in every solar application.

Available to Electra Sales of North Texas and Oklahoma customers, Littelfuse's SPD2 Type 2 series of surge protective devices provide a path to ground for excess voltage, preventing equipment damage, downtime, and the potential for personnel injury. These DIN-rail mounted SPDs feature a compact footprint to increase panel design flexibility, an interlocking tab to secure the module and withstand vibration, and a visual indicator to determine replacement status. The SPD2 Type 2 series does not require additional overcurrent protection devices required in UL applications, it has thermal protection to eliminate catastrophic failure, and modules are pluggable, allowing for quick replacements and less maintenance, all without the use of tools.
